It began in the year 1998 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana while working at an oil and gas refinery and living the simple life in the swamps of south Louisiana. I loved my job as a software analyst but my other side, the artistic side, kept calling out to me. My home was small and surrounded by beautifully moss-draped cypress trees, fiery sunsets, moonlight and shadows, good fishing spots, pirogues, good food, friends and creatures four times larger than me. As I needed help around the house I hired a French-speaking neighbor to do odd jobs. On one of those days, he saw me at my easel and offered to take some of my work to an art agent located in Mandeville, LA. He took eight originals and came back with all of them and said, “he doesn’t like them”. Heartbroken, I decided I would rearrange my thought process and come up with another plan. I searched for my inspiration and looked around at the beauty surrounding me. I began to look at these scenes as paintings, with myself immersed within them. It was though I was living my dream of truth, honesty, and beauty that nature provided. I began to paint from my heart. This became the start of a new life for me as the agent accepted this new work and it became the start of a career that has lasted nineteen years and still going. Although some of my collectors have never met me, they know me intimately, through my paintings, my love for all creatures and the great respect for nature. “The Faceless Series” produced a series of over 900 paintings to this date. The agent also printed “Signed & Numbered Prints” creating thousands of prints that were distributed and sold mainly in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and California, with some also in Europe. This work also led to many gallery representations, museum shows and art lessons given to young children.
Most of all, it has brought me to a level of contentment and happiness that I have found within myself and I am grateful to be able to share my work with you!
